Antheia (Ancient Greek: Ἀνθεία) was one of the Charites, or Graces, of Greek mythology and was the goddess of flowers and flowery wreaths. She was depicted in Athenian vase painting as one of the attendants of Aphrodite.
Her name which is derived from the ancient Greek word ανθος anthos means ‘flower’ or ‘blossom’. She was known to the Romans as Anthea. Her center of worship was on the island of Crete. The name Antheia was also given to Hera and connected to the Horae, under which she had a temple at Argos. It was also an epithet of Aphrodite at Knossos.She was the goddess of vegetation, gardens, blossoms, especially worshipped in spring and near lowlands andmarshlands, favorable to the growth of vegetation. She was also the goddess of human love.
Antheia is also the Greek name of Ancient Sozopolis in modern Bulgaria, and another Antheia was a village which was later adopted into Patras around 1000 BC.

I chose her because I love flowers so much.
Why do I love flowers? I really don’t know how these beautiful creations, that have been almost exclusively created for women, could capture a man’s heart. Definitely not the smell, at least not for me. Maybe it’s the colors. Maybe it’s the variety of their shapes and behaviors or maybe it’s my love for my life.
To us girls, we are mostly attracted towards flowers a lot and there are a certain reasons why this is so. I will tell you 5 reasons why flowers are so important to girls.
- Girls are very sensitive and we all know that.Flowers express what words cant and when you give girls the gift of flowers; they are very much impressed and feel loved. By giving those flowers you win a special place in their heart because girls notice little things and these little things make a lot of difference in their life. If you choose the right flower at the right occasion for a girl, she might fall in love with you. In simple words it shows that you care for her and you love her in a way that you keep thinking about her
- Romance is something highly valued by girls. They just love romance and romance without flowers is impossible. This is also one reason why girls love flowers because they are so much into romance that they just need flowers. They make them feel special, even for a few days but what matters is that they love flowers.
- Women are beautiful; they like to be surrounded by beautiful things too. What is more beautiful than flowers? They are the true beauty of nature and are loved by everyone in the world because of their immense beauty. This is also one reason why women love flowers so much.
- When a girl receives flowers in a public place, it clearly shows everyone around that someone loves you and is thinking about you. It is one of the best ways to show your love and affection to a girl and girls love feel important. So this is another reason why girls love flowers so much.
- It isn’t all about flowers actually but mostly it is about the attention you are giving to your girl. Whether the girls like it or not but they seek attention all the time and when they receive flowers, they feel important and they know someone loves them and is thinking about them which makes them feel that, that very guy can do anything for them. This is the beauty of flowers. This is also one of the main reasons why girls loves flowers so much.
